Terms & Conditions
Last updated: July 2026
1. About These Terms & Acceptance
These terms and conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the website sliding-door-repair.uk ("the Website") and the service through which we connect homeowners with independent door repair specialists ("the Service").
By using the Website or submitting an enquiry through our contact form, you confirm that you accept these Terms and agree to comply with them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website or the Service.
We recommend that you read these Terms carefully before submitting an enquiry, as they set out important information about how the Service works, your rights, and the basis on which repair work is carried out.
2. Who We Are and What We Do
Sliding Door Repair UK operates a matching platform. We introduce homeowners who need door repairs to vetted independent third-party specialists who carry out the work. We do not employ door repair engineers; we do not carry out door repair work ourselves; and we do not operate a franchise network of repair businesses.
Each independent specialist in our network operates their own business. When you accept a quote from a specialist and engage them to carry out work, the contract for the repair work is formed directly between you and that specialist, not with Sliding Door Repair UK. We act solely as an introducer.
This distinction is important: it means that while we vet specialists carefully, facilitate the introduction, and help resolve any issues that arise, the legal relationship for the actual repair work is between you and the independent specialist you choose to engage.
3. Our Service
When you submit an enquiry through our contact form, we review the information you provide — including your city, the type of door, and a description of the problem — and we match your enquiry to a suitable vetted independent specialist who covers your area. That specialist then contacts you directly to discuss the job and provide a quote.
We aim to connect every enquiry with a suitable specialist promptly. However, we cannot guarantee that a specialist will be available in every city or postcode area at all times. If no suitable specialist is available, we will let you know.
The matching service itself is free to homeowners. There is no charge for submitting an enquiry or for receiving a quote. You are under no obligation to accept any quote provided by a specialist.
4. Quotes and Pricing
All quotes for repair work are provided by the independent specialist after they have assessed your specific requirements. Quotes are based on the information you provide and any subsequent inspection the specialist carries out. A quote is an invitation to treat, not a binding offer, and may be revised if the scope of work changes upon inspection.
The indicative price ranges published on our Website — including on the Pricing page and in blog articles — are provided for general guidance only, based on typical UK market rates for common repair types. They do not constitute a fixed price list, an offer, or a guarantee of what any particular repair will cost. Every job is different, and your actual quote will reflect your specific door, fault, location, and the specialist's rates.
We require specialists in our network to provide transparent, itemised quotes before starting any work. You should never be asked to agree to work without a clear understanding of the price and what it covers.
5. Payment
Payment for repair work is made directly to the independent specialist who carries out the work, on the terms agreed between you and that specialist. We do not handle or process payments on behalf of specialists, and we do not add any commission, surcharge, or platform fee to the price you pay.
Payment methods, timing, and terms — such as whether a deposit is required or whether payment is due on completion — are agreed directly between you and the specialist. We recommend confirming these terms in writing before work begins.
6. Workmanship and Guarantees
Specialists in our network are expected to carry out work to a competent standard using appropriate materials and parts. Each specialist provides their own workmanship guarantee — the scope and duration of which will be communicated to you by the specialist before or at the time of the repair.
We facilitate the resolution of any issues that arise with a repair. If you are not satisfied with the work carried out by a specialist we introduced, please contact us and we will work with you and the specialist to find a fair resolution. We take the quality of our network seriously and monitor feedback to maintain standards.
Because the contract for repair work is between you and the specialist, any legal claim for defective workmanship lies against the specialist, not against Sliding Door Repair UK. We will assist in good faith, but our role in such situations is as a facilitator.
7. Consumer Rights
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law. In particular:
- Consumer Rights Act 2015: Any repair service provided by a specialist must be carried out with reasonable care and skill, within a reasonable time (where no time is agreed), and at a reasonable price (where no price is agreed). These rights are held against the specialist who provides the service.
- Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013: Where you contract with a specialist at a distance (e.g. over the phone or online), you may have a 14-day right to cancel from the day after the contract is formed. However, if you expressly request that the service begins within the 14-day cancellation period and the specialist has informed you that you will lose the right to cancel once the service is fully performed, the right to cancel may be lost once the service is completed.
For full guidance on your consumer rights, we recommend visiting the Citizens Advice website at citizensadvice.org.uk.
8. Your Responsibilities
To help the Service work effectively, you agree:
- To provide accurate and complete information when submitting an enquiry, including your correct contact details and a truthful description of the door problem.
- To ensure that the specialist has safe and unobstructed access to the door that needs repairing, including adequate lighting and a clear working area.
- To inform the specialist of any relevant information about the property that may affect the repair — for example, if the property is leasehold, listed, or in a conservation area, and the door is subject to any restrictions.
- Not to use the Website for any unlawful purpose or in a way that could damage, disable, or impair the Website or interfere with other users' enjoyment of it.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sliding Door Repair UK shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from or in connection with your use of the Website, the Service, or the repair work carried out by an independent specialist. This limitation applies to all claims, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise.
Our total aggregate liability to you in connection with these Terms or the Service, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, shall not exceed the greater of (a) £1,000 or (b) the total value of any fees, if applicable, paid by you to Sliding Door Repair UK in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
- Any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable UK law.
Because we do not carry out repair work, we are not liable for the quality, timing, or outcome of any work performed by an independent specialist. Any claim relating to the repair work itself must be made against the specialist who performed it.
10. Complaints Procedure
If you have a complaint about the Service or about a specialist we introduced, please contact us as soon as possible. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and aim to respond substantively within a reasonable timeframe — typically within five working days.
Where the complaint relates to workmanship, we will contact the specialist on your behalf and facilitate a discussion to resolve the issue. If a resolution cannot be reached directly, we will provide guidance on the options available to you, which may include independent mediation or, where appropriate, a claim through the specialist's insurance.
To raise a complaint, please email privacy@sliding-door-repair.uk with the subject line "Complaint" and include the name of the specialist, the date of the repair, and a clear description of the issue.
11. Intellectual Property
All content on the Website — including text, graphics, logos, images, page layout, and software — is owned by or licensed to Sliding Door Repair UK and is protected by UK and international copyright and intellectual property laws.
You may view, download, and print pages from the Website for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or republish any content from the Website without our prior written consent.
12. Changes to Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the most recent changes were made. By continuing to use the Website after changes are posted, you accept the revised Terms.
We recommend checking this page periodically to stay informed about the Terms that apply to your use of the Website and Service.
13. Governing Law
These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter (including non-contractual disputes or claims), shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms.
If you are a consumer resident in Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland, you retain the benefit of any mandatory protections afforded to you by the laws of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts. Nothing in this clause affects your statutory rights.
